 Travel Insurance and COVID-19

The Government of Canada has issued an official global advisory to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.   Travel Insurance offers both Emergency Medical Insurance and Non-medical Coverage (i.e. Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance) and COVID-19 impacts coverage differently.

Many countries have put in place border restrictions and limiting regional travel.  A number of travel companies are suspending services.  Please pay attention to government announcements as travel restrictions are changing. Your travel plans may be disrupted and understanding the benefits and limitations of travel insurance is critical.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for everyone on any type of trip.  Before booking your next trip be sure to speak with a trained travel advisor about coverage options.

It is important you review your own policy to fully understand the full details, limitations and exclusions of your coverage, please refer to your policy.

Below are links to the most updated information from our Insurance providers regarding their policies related to COVID-19. Find out if you are covered for medical treatment abroad if you become infected with COVID-19 as well as costs for extended stays outside of Canada.
